Review of handling of Damien Oliver matter
Racing Integrity Commissioner Sal Perna today announced that he will review the inquiry into illegal betting by jockey Damien Oliver.
Mr Perna said that his review comes following requests received from the Minister for Racing Denis Napthine and Racing Victoria.
The Commissioner’s review will look into how the Racing Victoria inquiry was conducted and the handling of the matter by racing stewards.
Mr Perna said the review will begin next week, once the time for Mr Oliver to make any appeals has passed.
Findings and recommendations will follow and these will be made public.
