
On Friday 25 March 2022, the Racing Integrity Commissioner announced an independent review into Victorian racing industry workplaces (Review). The Review establishes an independent opportunity for victims of physical or sexual abuse or assault and sexual harassment within the Victorian racing industry to report their experiences. It will also assess the industry’s current processes and systems for handling such complaints and provide support and access to counselling for anyone who has been affected.

The Racing Act 1958 (Vic) guides the functions of the Commissioner and the key functions are set out in The Racing Act (Section 37B).

The Racing Act 1958 (Section 37C) gives the Racing Integrity Commissioner the power to carry out his functions as outlined in Act, and to do all things necessary or convenient in order for him to carry out those functions.
